How to upgrade the firmware on Energy Server COM'X 200, 210 or 510 via the web page or USB port?

Instructions for upgrading firmware on a COM'X.

Firmware on the COM'X can be updated through the COM'X web page or through the USB port on the COM'X front panel.

Upgrading via the Web Page:
Ensure Date/Time has been Setup

1. Download the latest version of the COM'X 200, 210, or 510 firmware.

• COM'X 200 and 210 firmware: KB FA270260
• COM'X 510 firmware: KB FA274919

1. Log into the COM'X web page and click the Maintenance tab.
2. Click the System Settings sub tab.
3. Click Browse in the Firmware upgrade collapsible menu.
4. Select the firmware that was downloaded in step 1 and click Open.
5. Click Upgrade Firmware. The message "Application not reachable" is displayed during the upgrade.
6. Wait for the COM'X to reboot which can take up to 36 minutes when heavely loaded with devices. The power LED turns green when the reboot is complete.
7. Log into the COM'X Web page.
8. Check that the new firmware has been installed in the About page.

Upgrading via the USB Port:

1. Download the latest version of the COM'X 200, 210, or 510 firmware and save the firmware file to the root of a USB memory key.

• COM'X 200 and 210 firmware: KB FA270260
• COM'X 510 firmware: KB FA274919

2. ​Rename the file: upgrade.sp1.
3. Make sure there is no file, located at the root of the USB memory key, with a name that is the same as the Serial Number of the COM'X.
4. Power down the COM'X.
5. Insert the USB memory key in the USB port located on the front of the COM'X.
6. Power up the COM'X.
7. Wait for the COM'X to reboot, which can take up to 36 minutes. The power LED turns green when the reboot is complete.
8. Log into the COM'X Web page.
9. Check that the new firmware has been installed in the About page.
