How to determine how many Waveform Captures a meter has in the database?

Published date: 17 February 2020

Waveform captures can create a heavy burden on database size due to the amount of data they contain. Devices that are not properly configured for Power Quality, can generate large amounts of unnecessary waveforms that result in rapid growth of the ION_Data database. If waveform captures are causing excessive database growth, it is necessary to identify which device(s) are generating the most waveforms so they can be configured accordingly.

The attached SQL query will return a listing of all devices in the system that have waveform captures, as well as the amount of waveform captures for that device. Devices that have the largest number of waveform captures should be investigated to determine if they are generating an excessive amount.
