Published date: 19 June 2020

Database growth can become problematic when gone unchecked. Knowing how much data a meter has in the Power Monitoring Expert database can be useful in determining which sources need to have their logging parameters examined and possibly adjusted.

The attached MeterRowDataCount.sql will return a list of all sources in the ION_Data database, as well as the rowcount and data size information for that meter in the DataLog2, EventLog2 and WaveformLog2 tables.

Note: This query may take several minutes to run. Database size and server hardware specs will cause the run times to vary. A 400GB database containing over 5.3 billion rows of information in the DataLog2 table was used for testing, and the run time was approx. 12 minutes.
