About Modicon TM3 I/O system
The specially developed Modicon TM3 I/O system enables flexible and customisable expansion of the I/O terminals in all the controllers. Up to 14 terminals can be added to logic controllers without tools. When the terminals are plugged in, their contacts are electrically linked to both the controller and the adjacent terminal. This high-speed expansion bus is 10 times faster than traditional solutions.
The Modicon TM3 is an EcoStruxure Machine I/O system. From design and development to commissioning and maintenance, EcoStruxure Machine Expert is a complete machine building solution with benefits all through the machine life cycle.

Flexible
Modicon TM3 enhances the capabilities of Modicon M221, M241, M251 and M262 logic controllers, and offers the possibility of remotely locating some of the Modicon TM3 modules in the enclosure or another cabinet.
Exchange
Modicon TM3 figures 4 types of bus couplers allowing the creation of distributed islands of I/O modules, managed by a logic controller via Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP, Modbus Serial Line, or CANopen Fieldbus.
Machine Safety
Modicon TM3 system figures functional safety modules, specially designed for integrated machine safety. They control Emergency stops, safety switches, light curtains, and pressure-sensitive mats.
