How an intelligent infrastructure can help optimize hospital safety and security

The Joint Commission, a non-profit organization that accredits and certifies U.S. healthcare organizations, has reported that 8-10% of all of the adverse events that lead to death or permanent loss of function in hospital patients are directly related to poorly designed hospital facility systems. This paper discusses how implementing or improving automated facility systems can systematically reduce preventable adverse events and explores the key areas of patient safety that can be most greatly affected by adopting this automated approach.
