Can a Masterpact breaker be remotely reset after a fault if it has a spring charging motor and shunt close?
Issue:
Is there anything else needed besides a spring charging motor and shunt close to reset a Masterpact breaker remotely after a fault?

Product Line:
Power Circuit Breakers

Resolution:
You would also need either automatic or remote reset capability. Each of these options can be ordered with the breaker. When the breaker trips on a fault, there is a red reset button located right above the trip unit that pops out. That button must be pressed back in before the breaker can be reset. The automatic reset option prevents the button from popping out on a fault. The remote reset option allows a control voltage to be delivered that will retract the button so that the breaker can be reset. The remote reset option is also available field installed with the following numbers:

NT Fixed:
120 V control voltage: S47344
240 V control voltage: S47345

NT Drawout:
120 V control voltage: S47434
240 V control voltage: S47435

NW Fixed:
120 V control voltage: S48202
