Jean-Pascal Tricoire inspects Schneider Electric projects in Galala Mountains, visits Schneider plant in Badr City

Mr. Tricoire and a number of Schneider Electric top management visited Ain Sokhna to review the progress of some projects in Al Galala area, where Schneider Electric is supplying infrastructure control technologies for a number of major national projects, including the Galala seawater desalination plant with a reverse-osmosis technology, four boosting stations & pipe lines to the city
Schneider Electric has supplied all the electrical equipments and automation systems for the main plant and boosting stations in addition to the leakage detection system for the pipe lines using the first of its kind in the region using its EcoStruxure™ platform. He added that the Galala seawater desalination plant is considered one of the largest in Egypt and the Middle East and is one of the mega national projects implemented by the Egyptian government and Armed Forces, with an estimated production capacity of about 150 thousand cubic meters per day. The plant is scheduled to serve more than a million resident in Al Galala and Ain Sokhna regions, Mr.Tricoire assured that the quality, the consultant offices and partners designed and implemented the project according to the highest international standards.
Mr. Tricoire also inspected the implementation of electricity, heating and cooling systems, water and natural gas, data networks and infrastructure management programs for data centers, traffic, security and control and operation centers, which are implemented by Schneider Electric in collaboration with Tatweer Misr in IL Monte Galala, and which rely on EcoStruxure™ platform for controlling and managing infrastructure components in smart cities.
EcoStruxure™ platform provides optimized project management operations, follow-up on energy consumption and billing, as well as continuous maintenance of energy consumption levels, monitoring of building performance, predictability of problems and automatic data conversion into statistics and actionable plans, thus 80% of project management issues can be resolved remotely and residents’ complaint rates are reduced to up to 33%. This is in addition to reducing unplanned maintenance by up to 29%, and cutting energy costs by up to 30%, according to the latest estimates.
During his visit to Egypt, Mr. Tricoire was also keen to meet the company’s staff in the Fifth Settlement head quarters, as well as visit Schneider Electric low and medium-voltage electrical panels plant in Badr City to follow up on work progress. He hailed the quality of the products provided by Schneider Electric workers, with local components representing 40-60% of these products.
