For the First Time in Egypt: Schneider Electric Egypt and North East Africa Hosts "Uptime Institute Leadership Conference"

    • Schneider Electric hosts Global “Uptime Institute Conference” right here in Cairo, Egypt
    • Eng. Walid Sheta - Cluster President at Schneider Electric North East Africa and Levant said that, “based on the company’s leading position in data centers, Schneider Electric is keen on providing a range of effective solutions and enabling data centers to work continuously even in the most challenging operating conditions.”
    • Uptime Institute’s EMEA Managing Director, Phil Collerton, further added “Egypt is an important market in the region as it continues to focus on developing its critical ICT infrastructure to match global standards.

Cairo, Egypt - February 7th, 2017: Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, along with Uptime Institute, the independent advisory organization, focused on improving the performance, efficiency, and reliability of the business critical infrastructure that underlies today’s global information economy, hosted the Global "Uptime Institute Leadership Conference 2017”. The leadership conference agenda will highlight the region specific Data Centre challenges by bringing together domestic and international subject matter experts to share and discuss the latest best practices. The conference attended by Schneider Electric’s customers and a group of data centers experts.

Schneider Electric is in the process of having its own customers’ data centers obtain the internationally approved "Uptime Institute" quality certificates.

The accreditation comes in reward of the effective solutions offered by Schneider Electric’s data centers, which happen to support infrastructure across major government agencies and organizations that operate in the Egyptian market, in addition to the infrastructure of Schneider Electric’s local partners.

Eng. Walid Sheta commented that Schneider Electric’s hosting of the first Uptime Institute event in Egypt is an affirmation of the company’s commitment to this pivotal market and to achieving all elements of sustainability, efficiency, reliability and safety for our customers.

As for Eng. Moniem El Fakharany, the ITB Vice President, North East Africa, he stated that "Information Technology has become an indispensable tool for achieving integration in production processes. We are eager to commemorate Schneider Electric’s data centers, since the Egyptian market is vital for our business and is one of the largest markets with immense potential.” He added that, "relying on modern and internationally accredited data centers became an inevitable choice to better control automated industrial processes, as well as enhancing the quality of business decisions”

Uptime Institute’s EMEA Managing Director, Phil Collerton, further added “Egypt is an important market in the region as it continues to focus on developing its critical ICT infrastructure to match global standards. The Uptime Institute Leadership Council is designed to facilitate knowledge sharing and best practice in the region and we look forward to welcoming the ICT leadership in Egypt.”

The Uptime Institute is ranked the first entity in the world in data centers assessments and in awarding the highest quality certificates; it relies on several fixed global standards related to data centers’ design and construction in terms of business continuity, even in difficult and exceptional operating conditions. This is exactly what Schneider Electric relies on when designing data centers to its customers; it prepares programs that improve planning and reduce operational costs, which gives data centers a great ability to help companies respond more quickly to changing market demands and achieve significant revenue growth.
