Optical Port (COM3) performance above 19200 bps

Goals and Symptoms

Optical port performance at baud rates higher than 19200 may not be supported by some optical probe models. At higher baud rates there may be a high error rate or inability to connect to the meter

Facts and Changes

Causes and Fixes

If the port is not performing there are two options:
1. Step down the baud rates incrementally until the performance is acceptable.

2. If possible, use a different optical probe and see if the performance improves.
