How do I dispose of used UPS batteries?

Cause:
Used batteries must be disposed of properly.
Resolution:
If you purchased an APC Replacement Battery Cartridge in the U.S. or Canada, information on how to download and print a prepaid shipping label to return the old battery will be provided with the new Replacement Battery Cartridge. Please note that return shipping service is not provided for the RBC13, RBC14, or Symmetra replacement battery products.
If you did not purchase an APC Replacement Battery Cartridge, then you can either dispose of the old battery cartridge at any local battery disposal location or you can pay for the shipping of the old battery cartridge to one of our authorized disposal facilities.
Customers in the US and Canada can set up a return for recycling HERE
Customers in other regions should contact their local APC tech support for details.
