Issue
The user receives a prompt to install Microsoft Silverlight when attempting to launch the Power Monitoring Expert Web applications using the Microsoft Edge browser.

Cause
The Microsoft Edge browser does not support Silverlight and is not a supported browser for the PME 8.x web applications.

Resolution
Please use one of the supported browsers to access the PME Web applications.

NOTE: PME 8.x is not Edge compatible. The Edge browser does not support plug-ins, so the main impediment is Silverlight. PME 9 however, is moving away from Silverlight so I expect it will work with Edge.


Supported browsers include:
Internet Explorer 10 and 11
Mozilla Firefox version 35 or later
