With a shared vision of driving sustainable development, Schneider Electric has been appointed by Swire Properties to work on the Cloud-based Smart Energy Management Platform Pilot Project. The aim is to provide a testbed for creating an integrated energy management platform to centrally monitor both Swire Properties’ Hong Kong and Mainland China premises.
An important milestone for both companies in their commitment to contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the universal blueprint to achieve a more sustainable future for all, this highly centralized system will allow swift and decisive energy optimization services between Swire Properties’ portfolios.

To reinforce its commitment to sustainable development as articulated in its Sustainable Development (SD) 2030 vision and strategy, Swire Properties is looking for a smart, open and flexible energy management platform that could incorporate and work with the various monitoring tools and systems already in place. Swire Properties aims to utilize big data analytics and enable artificial intelligence to the vast amount of building data to drive decarbonization and operational efficiency. With the connection of various monitoring tools and building systems to the cloud platform, Swire Properties also heavily values cybersecurity to ensure protection of the data and building operation.
Before long, Schneider experts were hard at work. They proposed a system based on our EcoStruxure, our open, interoperable platform and system architecture. Connected products with edge-control capabilities would provide a one-stop platform for real-time monitoring of energy operations across a platitude of different developments. Office buildings, shopping malls and hotels were onboarded to effectively oversee and manage the wide portfolio of critical operational functions. All the subsystems were connected to a central platform for real-time monitoring of major equipment energy usage and a quick, convenient dashboard that informs managers of the overall operational health in a glance.
At the same time, our cloud-based Energy Advisor software makes use of big data analytics to detect and diagnose equipment faults and system irregularities before they can become big problems. This not only identifies potential energy saving opportunities, but also improves overall operational safety, efficiency and sustainability. Further, the integration of our hardware and software products, deliver a seamless facility management experience, certified by cybersecurity experts to prevent data breaches or system downtime.
