The distance between common mode filter and ATV process should not exceed 100mm and this information is mentioned in common mode filter instruction sheet. The reason is that only phase conductors (U,V,W) go via magnetic core of common mode filter and so PE wire and shielding must bypass it. Then all phase wires U.V.W from common mode filter to ATV are lead without the shielding and are exposed to transmit the EMC emissions (radiated emissions). The purpose is to minimize the length of unshielded part, but 100mm distance is not strictly the limitation. In case max 100mm distance is impossible to keep, take care the radiated emissions from motor phases on exposed part. If necessary add a metal cover over non-shielding motor phases.
