Why is there a minimum load current specified for the 140DRA84000 and 140DRC83000 relay output modules?

Published date: 31 August 2018

The minimum load current is necessary to keep a mechanical switch or relay contact in good health, otherwise known as the wetting current. If a mechanical switch or relay contact is operated with too little current, the contacts will tend to accumulate excessive resistance and may fail prematurely. Thus the need for the minimum load current.
