Contactor works and functions of Contactor

Inside of contactor there are moving contact and fixed contact. Contactor works by electromagnet which generated on the coil.  Where the coil is made from the winding of the conductor, when given an electric current it will generate a magnetic field.

This magnetic field will attract moving contact components to connect with fixed contacts. When the electric current flowing into the coil is turned off, the magnetic field will be lost. Because inside coil is equipped with spring, then contact automatically will to open.

Function of contactor, generally used for connected and disconnected of electric current supply. Usually in use for applications: motors, heater, lighting or electric power distribution.
