Sr. Valves &Actuators Engineering Manager/Director

What do you get to do in this position?
- Lead Engineering / R&D activities for the development of smart, connected valves and actuators for energy efficient building control applications.
Experience with the design and application of classic hydronic valves (PICV, globe, ball, zone, butterfly).
Experience with water valve and air damper electromechanical actuators, sensors, and digital/IoT BMS systems and controls.
Provide close technical / strategic R&D direction and coordination of engineering functions with global production facilities.
Build and maintain an innovative, agile team to deliver offer roadmap.
Manage team and knowledge transition across internal and geographic boundaries.
Foster collaboration while working across global cultural and language barriers.
Anticipate resource requirements, select, retain, and develop talent.
Focus engineering team on customer needs, new product innovation, design for manufacturing, and application of new technologies.
Propose and advise on new engineering methods, tools, and other productivity improvement programs, products or manufacturing techniques or processes.
Maintain awareness of trends, new developments, and competition to drive business competitiveness.
Balance innovation and pre-study product concept opportunities with assigned project responsibilities while adhering to engineering budget.
Play active role in Product Steering Committee supporting development of business cases with Offer Management.
Develop and protect intellectual property for new ideas/products.
Active with current and potential customers to support sales and marketing.
Close collaboration with third-party OEM and ODM suppliers for brand-labeled opportunities.
Skilled in oral and written communication, multilingual preferred (English, French, and Chinese).
This job might be for you if you are/have:
- Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, multidisciplinary, or electrical engineering.
Advanced engineering degree, professional engineering license, or MBA preferred.
10 to 15+ years of practical product engineering experience related to electromechanical, hydronic, and/or embedded product development.
5+ years relevant engineering management experience
Evidence of success – patents, innovation, intellectual property
