Concept error: Database path or filename too long

Concept does not work after installation of MS security patch KB840987 for Windows 2000.
Error: AI Exception handler Error ID: AI-11343 and Database path for filename too long.

Facts and Changes

WINDOWS 2000 with SP3 or SP4.
MS security patch KB840987.
Concept V2.6, V2.5 and also older Versions.

Causes and Fixes

With MS security patch KB840987 the path for the TEMP - directory is becoming too long.
Change the TEMP - Variables in Control Panel / System / Advanced / Environment Variables
Use a shorter name like %SYSTEMROOT%\TEMP or C:\TEMP.
Replace both TEMP and TMP variables in both windows: System Variables and User or Admin Variables.
Problem is solved with Concept 2.6 SR2 patch a or newer.
