Three steps to net-zero buildings
When beginning to design or retrofit a building for net-zero carbon, leaders across the organisation must align on a vision and path forward. It can be daunting to determine how and where to start your decarbonisation journey, which is why we work collaboratively with your team to define what success looks like. We can help with structuring your decarbonisation roadmap, understanding funding options, determining how you will communicate your commitment, and ultimately, helping get you from planning to results faster.
Building digitalisation is a crucial and fundamental step to achieving net-zero targets and creates a single source of truth for real-time energy and sustainability data. It helps you visualise and understand how you’re managing energy and processes to optimise each and see where you can save and accurately report and benchmark progress.
For new “green build” facilities, electrical design and simulation and building information modelling can be included early in the design and build phases to meet sustainability goals.
For existing buildings that need sustainable retrofits, you may need to modernise building systems with the latest digital technology. The first major action should be to assess the level of digitisation and capabilities of the building management system (BMS) and assets.
