Power Supplies, Power Protection and Transformers
Schneider Electric offers an interesting selection of power supplies, protection, and transformers. Its regular use of power supplies caters to industrial and commercial requirements, rail mounting, panel mounting, PhaseoABL8 (single-phase/three-phase power supplies), as well as Phaseo AS-i-ABL (single-phase with AS interface). Besides these, SE also offers Phaseo ABT7 and ABL6, which are again single-phase transformers. All these products have their own unique functions depending on where they are put to use. SE also provides voltage transformers that help in converting energy. These are mostly used in monitoring AC or DC currents that are alternating in nature. If feasible, they are also done directly via a VT. They help in reducing the current load on the supply that is being measured, and they are also commonly known as the parallelly connected transformers.VTs offer two primary solutions, that are, potential transformers (PT) and coupling voltage transformers (CVT). Both of them function in a very free-standing manner. Generally, PTs are used for substation busses for voltage measurement purposes, while CVTs find a more significant use for similar requirements, but on individual transmission lines. Transformers are used to bring down the voltage to levels much lower than the typical kilovolt values that power systems generate.
