These libraries are available as stand-alone components for the Modicon controller range (M580, M340, Quantum, Premium) or in combination with our HMI offers (Citect or Wonderware System Platform). The libraries are part of our EcoStruxure Hybrid DCS offer and have been extensively used internally and at numerous sites.

- Simple, efficient programming: Modicon libraries are a set of lightweight blocks that are designed to meet the needs of the broader market but can also be customized for an individual site or device. The options selected are easily visible in the code (no hidden parameters). This approach produces a lighter (needs fewer controllers) and clearer program (which is simpler to debug) for SIs and end users.

ApplicationsModicon libraries start with our general purpose library (GPL). This library provides access to Schneider Electric’s extensive range of connected products (motor control and power management) via a number of industrial networks, standard control modules for indicators, motors and valves and common process libraries and sequencing blocks to enable rapid engineering of your automation system. The library also contains functionality to link with our Wonderware software offers of historian and batch. The general purpose library is available freely from this website for use on any project.
Modicon libraries also include additional libraries (available for purchase). These include libraries for Modicon only (HVAC control, Gas flow calculation), functional libraries (power control, energy management, advanced process control) and vertical libraries (water). These libraries build on the capabilities of the GPL but provide more specific control modules and some process control templates.
