China Carbon Neutrality 2060: Pathway of Social Transition and Green Development

Given its size, its potential, and its leading efforts in decarbonizing its economy and scaling up zero-carbon solutions, China is poised to play a prominent role in global decarbonization efforts. China is uniquely positioned to be one of the major laboratories of a 21st century sustainable economy, and this is why its journey is so critical to study. In this report, realized in partnership between the Schneider Electric Sustainability Research Institute and the Institute of Climate Change and Sustainability from Tsinghua University, we show that a focus on demand-led transformations of the economy could accelerate the journey of the country toward a zero-carbon economy.
