Ask a Question

What does it mean if my MSTR is giving me an error F001 Hex?

This error generally indicates that the MSTR is not pointed at the correct slot number. The high byte of the fourth implied register (4X+4) tells the MSTR where to send the message. A zero value indicates the native Modbus Plus port on the controller. In a Quantum or 984 controller, this is the slot of a Network Option Module. This could be a NOM or an NOE. In an M1E, this must be set to 1 if using the Ethernet connection and left at 0 for Modbus Plus. If the fourth implied register is sending the message to a slot not containing the NOM or an NOE this error will result.
