Constant Sweep

The user can specify the required cycle times and allocate a register.

Into this text field, enter an address which contains the required cycle times.
Target scan time (10 - 200 ms)
Into this text field the user can specify the required cycle times from 10 ... 200 ms (multiple times from 10 ms). The required cycle time is the time between the beginning of a cycle and the beginning of the next cycle. If a constant cycle is set up with a running time which is shorter than the actual cycle time, the cycle time function is ignored and the system uses the normal cycle running time (cycle time when free-running) There is a longer runtime in a constant cycle for logic processing, I/O and Modbus Port management. If the user specifies a required constant cycle time of 40 ms and the actual logic processing, port management and diagnosis only needs 30 ms, the control panel will wait for 10 ms during each cycle. The cycle time changes if several windows are opened under Concept. The cycle time increases if for example several segments are displayed in the animation mode. In order to avoid this, the cycle time should be reduced.
Note: Once the constant sweep has been changed, the project must be saved and reloaded in the PLC.

Single Sweep

In this dialog box, you can define the single sweep settings.
Single sweep time base (10 - 200 ms)
In this text box, you can define the sweep time.
Sweep trigger count (1 - 15)
In this text box, select a defined number of sweeps for execution (between 1 ... 15). Logic processing for the operation of the inputs/outputs is stopped after the defined number of sweeps. This function is helpful for diagnostics. It allows error checking for processed logic, changed data and executed calculations.

Single sweeps should not be used for trouble shooting while operating machine tools, processes or material administration systems while they are running. When the defined number of sweeps are complete, all outputs are conserved in their final states. No further logic processing is taking place; therefore, the controller ignores all input information.
Failure to follow this precaution can result in death, serious injury, or equipment damage.
