What do you get to do in this position?
Update, modify, and continuously improve existing controls systems including ladder logic programs, relay logic, electrical distribution, motor controls, operator interface, hydraulics, and pneumatics distribution and control.
Troubleshoot and repair production machine issues in a timely manner.
Collaborating with the methods/maintenance department as well as other plant departments for preventative and reactive repair and continuous improvement.
Involvement in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of mechanical products.
Maintains frequent and regular contact with internal customers to understand and address opportunities on projects.
Continues skillset development and education to propel solutions.
Coordinate with engineering and maintenance on existing machine control modifications to robotic, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and vision systems.
This job might be for you if:
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience
3-5 years of experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting
Complete knowledge of and ability to design and use relay logic, ladder logic, pneumatic logic and hydraulic logic
Complete knowledge of and ability to use RS232, RS422, Ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet, and remote I/O communications protocol
Understanding of and ability to use C# and Visual Basic
Complete understanding and ability to use Excel, Word, Access, AutoCAD and all related computer software for machine programming, backup and monitoring
Application of various sensor technologies
Experience and knowledge pertaining to motor control circuits from 480VAC, 208/120VAC, 24VDC, 12VDC
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities daily
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Minimize exposure and risk on project(s)
Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solution
Have knowledge of applicable design, installation, and use of product/machining/programs
