Surge safety shuddered outlet is not accepting my device's electrical plug.

Cause:
These outlets are designed to be child safe, they open only when equal pressure is applied to both shudders. If you lean more on one side then the shudder will not slide open.
Resolution:
Holding the molded portion of the equipment's plug try to adjust the alignment to equally distribute pressure across both prongs.
Plugs that have cord at a 90 degree angle to their prongs (right-angled plugs) can be more difficult to insert than others."
