Goals and Symptoms
When browsing the diagram with Webreach, for some reasons parts of the diagram don't work. Sometimes the historical logs don't show up. The same diagram seen from Vista works fine.
Facts and Changes
Webreach, browser, navigation
Causes and Fixes
The cause for this issue is that the IIS (Internet Information Services) has difficulties accessing the hierarchy of the different diagrams. Hence it is possible that during the session, the browser is lost and some links appear to be missing, or some queries don't execute properly. To avoid this issue, there are two possible workarounds:
- Refrain from using the "Back" button in Internet Explorer. Using the back button uses the content of the cache file on the client, and doesn't make a new query to the IIS. Use the "Back to network diagram" button instead.
- Make sure all the Objects or Datalog Viewers in Vista are set as "Custom Link" or "Custom Query Server" instead of "Inherit from parent window". When browsing the diagrams, the "Inherit..." option can cause the IIS to get lost.
