How to troubleshoot outlets not working on a switched rPDU
Issue:
When powering on a switched rack PDU, one or more groups of outlets are not supplying power

Product:
APC Switched rPDU's, including but not limited to AP79xx, AP86xx, AP89xx, APDU99xx, APDU10xx models

Solution:
There are a few causes for groups of outlets to remain off on a switched rPDU. If a user finds some or all outlets not supplying power, please check the following:

- rPDU bank breakers: rPDU's 30A and above have circuit breakers to protect the individual banks. Confirm that the breakers have not been tripped, and remain in the "off" position. For information on how to reset breakers, please see FA156088

- rPDU outlet LED: Switched rPDU's have green LED's near each outlet, which when lit show that the outlet is currently enabled and supplying power. If the rPDU outlet LED is off, then the outlet may have been commanded off by a user.

- rPDU web interface: Switched rPDU's use a network interface for user control of individual outlets. It is possible to enable/disable outlets, as well as control outlet turn-on order and timing when power is applied to the rPDU. It's possible certain outlets have been configured or commanded to remain off, and need to be enabled again through the network card. Please see the relevant user guide for each specific rPDU for more information on where outlet control exists within the user interface. Retrieving the event/data/config files can also help confirm if there is a configuration issue, or other fault present.

- rPDU outlet measurements: If a user has a multimeter/voltmeter handy, they can manually check the voltage present at the outlet by retrieving measurements between Line, Ground, and Neutral/Line2 to confirm they are valid.

If a user has gone through the above and power is still not present at the outlets, please contact the APC support team.
