Error 1721 when uninstalling early versions of Schneider Electric Software Update

Issue:
Old versions of Schneider Electric Software Update (e.g. versions 1.0, 1.2 or 1.3) cannot be uninstalled once they have been repaired. Uninstall leads to Error 1712.

Environment:
Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10

Resolution:
Download and execute version 2.5.0 of Schneider Electric Software Update from this link.
When setup starts, it automatically begins a Repair fix as shown below:

After repair the old version of Schneider Electric Software Update is automatically uninstalled and the new version is installed.
