Ask a Question

How is content level detected in a transparent bottle by a photoelectric sensor?

Sensor number XUMW1KSNLT is a thru beam sensor for the detection of liquid levels in glass and plastic containers. See attached pdf

Though not a recommended solution, it is possible to use a standard sensor such as XUB0BPSNL2 + XUB0AKSNL2T, though results may be less reliable. Due to the width of the beam it is necessary to offset the transmitter and receiver by 2mm. The content will deflect the light beam when present, thus ensuring correct detection.
The part number of the sensor used is only one example. You should choose a sensor to suit the needs of your application.
