This position is accountable for managing large customer engineered to order projects in the Water/Wastewater Competency Center to ensure the customer receives the best sales service possible and Schneider Electrics sales opportunities are maximized.
 
The dollar value of Customer projects can exceed millions of dollars. The project scope typically incorporates complex equipment and can extend over multiple years. The position takes ownership for the customer as the primary order management contact at Schneider Electric.  This includes initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing of customer projects/programs.  Individual in this position confirms customer requirements, which includes drawings, specifications, job site requirements, Bill of Material alignment with specifications & clarify exceptions.  Manages complete job process from order preparation, thru manufacturing release, product shipment, post shipment support and financial reconcilation. This position is the primary order management contact for the customer. As such, this position is critical to customer satisfaction, profitability & future business potential.
  
This role typically partners with Field Sales or higher level project management roles to validate the project’s statement of work and contract terms with the customer.  The validation includes both technical and commercial elements.  The outcome is typically achieved through information review & exchange with the customer, field sales personnel, or quotation support resources.  The hand-off of the project from Sales to Manufacturing Operations is led by this role and establishes this role as the lead contact for the customer for the balance of the project order.
 
This role has the responsibility for validating the project schedule for executing the customer’s project order.  The key activities include developing an overall project schedule and confirming the customer’s execution expectations.  These activities and their outcomes are achieved through direct engagement with the customer, internal manufacturing facilities, and third party vendors as necessary to determine their support of the customer’s project.
 
The project plan is shared and updated throughout the life of the project with the customer as a means to validate the progress of the project and changes as a result of customer or internal scope or performance adjustments.
 
This role has lead responsibility for monitoring the execution of the customer’s project order.  This includes verifying the appropriate execution of the project plan; typically through manufacturing plants, field services, and engineering services.  The position coordinates these internal or third party resources to achieve the project plan as developed and shared with the customer.   These outcomes are achieved via kick-off meetings, information sharing via our internal systems and emails, and exchange of technical requirements and project plan information.
 
This role is the lead individual for monitoring and controlling the performance of the customer’s project through its lifecycle.  Key activities include task completion verification, project team monitoring, schedule reporting, issue resolution, and contract administration.  These outcomes are achieved through project plan monitoring, managing the exchange of project updates across the project team members, reviews with the customer on site project status, and monitoring internal or external schedule changes.  The desired outcomes are to achieve execution of the project including compliance to specification and scope, and delivery within defined timeframes.  The outcomes are achieved through directing all key resources within their functional areas of expertise to complete their work assignments in alignment with the desired outcomes.  The use of project schedules is used to empower this role to direct resources as necessary.
 
This role is accountable for leading the closeout of the customer’s project.  Activities include financial reconciliation, verification of job site equipment arrival, installation, start-up, and training support completion.  These outcomes are completed through review of internal system information, contact with the customer, and coordination with support services such as field services, after-shipment support, and training functions.
 
This role must maintain and continually refresh technical product knowledge, project management skills, and customer service skills.  Internal and external courses complimented with on-the-job mentoring are elements of the positions career and technical development.  Career development toward higher levels of project management, will require completion of the appropriate Project Management Institute certification.

    


Qualifications

This job might be for you if:

This position requires a 4-year engineering degree, or equivalent experience. Industry experience a plus especially in the water wastewater industry. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to multi task, work in a fast paced environment and have time management skills.

Required product knowledge includes medium and low voltage electrical distribution and control equipment.  In addition, a good working knowledge of computer operating systems, specifically Windows.  Standard business application software experience to include:  MS Office 365, MS Excel and MS Access, also knowledge of Q2C, SE Advantage, Bridge Front Office and other business systems.
