PME Login gives error "The user does not have permission to log in. Contact the system administrator or use a different account."

Issue
Certain users are unable to log into the Web Applications.  The user receives an error like the one shown below.  "The user does not have permission to log in.  Contact the system administrator or use a different account."  Deleting and re-adding the user in yields with no success.

Cause
The User Manager is locking new accounts in the user group “Unassigned”.  This is happening because we have another user Group defined within the User Manager.  This Unassigned group populates when “Global” is not the only user group. 


When adding those Unassigned users back into the Global group, the following error below pops up.   The User Group 'Global' could not be changed due to the following code: <b>500error</b></p>



Resolution
*Warning: Take backups of any files prior to modifying them. Ensure the backups are in a location that will not be overwritten (i.e. the Desktop).
  1. Navigate through the PME directory to the path "Power Monitoring Expert\Applications\Teams\"
  2. Locate the "Web.config" file.  Create a copy of this file in a location that will not be overwritten, like the Desktop.  
  3. Open and edit the previously existing file "Web.config"
  4. Add the following tag under the <appSettings> tag in the file
    <add key="aspnet:MaxJsonDeserializerMembers" value="100000"/>
  5. Save the change and restart the ION Application Modules Core Services Host service, the browser, and IIS.
