Cause
Determining the memory consumption is required to aid in commissioning systems and/or troubleshooting performance related issues.
Resolution
*Warning: Irreparable database damage can occur. This procedure should only be performed by users familiar with SQL Server Management Studio. Databases should be backed up prior to performing this procedure.*
To retrieve the the amount of memory used by each database of current SQL Server installation, log into SQL Server Management Studio and run the attached SQL script (Memory_Used.sql).
Alternatively, execute the query(s) below :
-- Memory used by each database SELECT DB_NAME(database_id), COUNT (1) * 8 / 1024 AS MBUsed FROM sys.dm_os_buffer_descriptors GROUP BY database_id ORDER BY COUNT (*) * 8 / 1024 DESC GO
