The latching input is a special function that can be assigned to one of four inputs (%I0.0.2 to %I0.0.5) on a base or a remote controller. This function is used to memorize any pulse with a duration less than the controller scan time. When a pulse is shorter than one scan and has a value greater than or equal to 1ms, the controller latches the pulse, which is then updated in the next scan.
