PLC, PAC and Dedicated Controllers

The Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) are largely industrial systems developed with the manufacturing environment in mind. PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) allows access to manage and monitor the array of connected machines as well as the software system integrated with it. The PLC system can operate with a wide range of communication protocols, including conversions, data analysis, I/o interfacing, signal processing, linking, rendering, and so on. The system is completely programmable by the user. PLC system’s maintenance and monitoring are significantly easier.

How does a programmable logic controller(PLC controllers) work? A programable logic controller or a PLC controller usually comprises of three integral components, i.e., power supply, processor, and an input/output (I/O) section. In simple terms, the processor is referred to as the brain of the PLC as it is designed to perform multiple tasks related to machine tool, process-control functions, and production. A user can successfully operate PLC controllers by monitoring the current status of the inputs, executing the control program, and timely updating the status of the outputs.
