Push Buttons, Switches, Emergency Stops and Pilot Lights
What are push buttons used for?
Due of their superior functionality over conventional switches, push buttons are frequently utilized in industrial applications. Pushbuttons can be used to connect to other mechanical applications via linkages, in contrast to typical switches, which can only perform one function
Push button switch types
Single pole, single throw (SPST), single pole, double throw (SPDT), double pole, single throw (DPST), and double pole, double throw are the most popular types of button switches. Since an SPST only has two terminals, it can only open and close one circuit at a time. It could be used, for instance, to turn on and off a motor. An SPDT can control two distinct circuits because it has three terminals. It can therefore be used to switch between powering two different LEDs or to switch an item of equipment from the sleep mode to the active mode. Two separate circuits may be controlled simultaneously using DPST and DPDT switch configurations.
