The Communication Process of PowerChute Network Shutdown Software

The APC Network Management Card and PowerChute Network Shutdown allow remote shutdown of multiple systems from a single UPS over a network. Awareness of network availability, scalability to large numbers of clients, limited impact on network traffic, and a reliable architecture are of prime concern for such a system. This paper describes how the Network Management Card and PowerChute Network Shutdown communicate with each other to address these concerns.
