"The ConnectionString property has not been initialized" Error for RMAT 5.2 and PME 8.2

Published date: 21 May 2020

Issue
User tries to run RMAT tool on Power Monitoring Expert 8.2 after upgrading and recieves the following error:

"The ConnectionString property has not been initialized."

Product
RMAT 5.2, SRP 5.2

Environment
Power Monitoring Expert (PME) 8.2

Cause
The RMAT tool has not been updated to work with PME 8.2 out of the box (zip file, in this case).

Resolution
*Warning: Take backups of any files prior to modifying them. Ensure the backups are in a location that will not be overwritten (i.e. the Desktop).*
  1. Verify that the Windows user has access to the SQL server.
  2. Verify that the RMAT version is 5.2. Version 5.0 and below will not work with PME 8.2.  Please refer to the attached zip file for RMAT 5.2.
  3. Uninstall any old versions of RMAT and install version 5.2.
  4. Open the file Report Measurement Admin Tool.exe.config in a text editor such as notepad. (C:\Program Files(x86)\Schneider Electric\RMAT\Report Measurement Admin Tool.exe.config)
  5. Look for the line that says <setting name="ION_NetworkConnectionStringOverride" serializeAs="String">
  6. Enter the string that references the Server, Database, and Trusted connection under that line.  It should look like the examples below:

<setting name="ION_NetworkConnectionStringOverride" serializeAs="String">
<value>Server=localhost\ION;Database=ION_Network;Trusted_Connection=Yes;</value>
</setting>

  1. Save the changes and close the config file in the editor.  Run the RMAT Tool.
Note: See FA280504 for the 8.1 workaround.
