With a solar powered microgrid system monitored by EcoStruxure Microgrid Solutions, critical care facilities stay up and running while energy costs and the campus’s carbon footprint decrease.

The Challenge

The Solution

A custom solar-powered microgrid system was designed to serve all four buildings, allowing them to operate collectively or individually in grid-tied or island mode. Citizens Energy Corporation, which helped fund the project, manages it through an Energy-as-a-Service agreement using EcoStruxure Microgrid Advisor, Ecostruxure Microgrid Operation, and Energy Control Centers for monitoring and control.

The Results

Now and well into the future, Daughters of Mary can focus on caring for the community instead of worrying about energy costs and downtime. The EcoStruxure platform provides monitoring and control over energy usage for maximum efficiency and cost savings. When it’s not grid-tied, the microgrid system can provide electricity to the critical facilities around the clock.
