Regional Component Support Engineer (RCSE) – M/F

The “R&D Efficiency & support team” must address, support and coach all the R&D activities to cover our multi-disciplines offers, to align, harmonize all the methods & tools, design processes, within a common, business approach and mindset. The main mission of this team, with a global responsibility for the Medium Voltage Offer Line of Business, is to increase efficiency and worldwide collaboration.

Main Role 

As part and member of this team and under the responsibility of the global discipline leader, you are the Regional Component Support Engineer (RCSE) for China region (Shanghai, Xiamen, Beijing, Suzhou etc.)

You support & coach the Medium Voltage design, industrialization, purchasing, quality teams 
- to ensure the correct application of the Components Supplier Management (CSM) policy.
- to master and track the products Bill of Materials quality & compliancy regarding standard parts, components, raw materials and surface treatments
- to promote the usage of this CSM environment and to optimize the project costs

You may have to participate occasionally to national or international travels in Schneider R&D centers, manufacturing plants or Suppliers and to contribute to specific or transversal actions, like migration & integration of specific entities & perimeters.

Key responsibilities / activities:

Be the MV China interface connecting with TSM department (Technology & Standardization Management) to drive standard components related to Medium Voltage projects including the necessary cleaning and update of the existing products.

Support new-comer onboarding training focusing on component related competency

Routing support to designers for:
- Coach & support designers for component & material selection through tool / process with the support from TSM experts and industrial Colleagues

- Optimize standard parts and materials selection & usage to improve cost

- Identify the needs and gaps and take the related corrective actions
- Support “Problem Report” issuing when needed (eg. Complicated, long follow up with TSM…)

- Ensure the corresponding updates and alignments of the PDM & ERPs database

 - Audit Product Bill of Materials health status to continuously improve component standardization in MV China

Qualifications – External Requirements:

- Educational Background: Bachelor + degree in Mechanical design and manufacturing, material, etc.

- 1+ years of successful experience as Mechanical Design Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, Component Engineer etc.

 - Good communications skills, including written and spoken English, ability to work efficiently as part of a worldwide and international team

- Committed to Quality, Customer Satisfaction

- Proactive approach to achieve objectives and to solve problems. Take initiative to meet team mission

- International experience (study or work experience abroad) is a plus
