Towards net-zero buildings: The investment case

Decarbonizing buildings is key to achieving a net-zero future, but investments to date have been limited due to financial barriers and a lack of proof of relevance for green investments, undermining the viability of projects. This report is complementary to our recently released flagship report, “Decarbonizing Buildings to the Benefits of Consumers and System Operators” and combines the integration of digital and electrification technologies with PV and battery optimization to achieve targeted profitability by building investors while providing bill and CO2 savings. Furthermore, it looks at the possible impact of grid burden and its mitigation.
