The error "A valid software license could not be found" is displayed in Power Monitoring Expert (PME) 7.2.x, 8.0, or 8.1

The following error message appears when opening any component of Power Monitoring Expert (PME):
This includes Management Console, Vista, Designer, or even Web.

          A valid software license could not be found.
          Possible causes:
          * No valid license is installed
          * System error

Product Line
Power Monitoring Expert (PME 7.2.x)
Power Monitoring Expert (PME 8.0)
Power Monitoring Expert (PME 8.1)

Software license

Some services responsible for the the licensing and activation of the software may have stopped.

To resolve the issue, start/restart the following two services:
  • FlexNet Licensing Service
  • lmadminSchneider
If the error message persists after restarting the services listed above, refer to the StruxureWare Power Monitoring Expert Licensing Guide (attached) or contact Technical Support for further assistance.
