Video: How to hide an Application Tab for specific users in Web application, Power Monitoring Expert 9.0?

A supervisor would like to hide one (or more) application tab(s) from the user(s).

By default, there are five application tabs available for users in PME 9.0 web applications. Dashboards, Diagrams, Trends, Alarms, and Reports. A supervisor user may decide to hide one (or more) application tab(s) from all (or some) users of the system.

In Web Application:
1- Log in using a supervisor account.
2- Navigate to SETTINGS, Configuration Tools, and User Manager.
3- Click on the User Groups tab, and select Add User Group.
4- Type in a name in the Name field, and click on Next.
5- Select the users intended to be added to this group and click on Next.
6- Select the sources to be given access to users in this group, and click on Next.
7- Select the desired application tab(s) to be visible for the users in this group, and click on Finish.
To test, log out of the supervisor account, and log back in with one of the users in the newly created group. Changes in application tabs will be visible instantly. The following video demonstrates these steps. In this example, 2 users (controller1 and operator1) have been added to a customized User Group (group-level1). These users are limited to see Dashboards and Reports tabs for all available sources in the system.
