Schneider Electric as a partner in an R&D collaborative project

IDE4L (2013 − 2016)

The 3-year IDE4L (Ideal Grid for All) demonstration project focused on distributed-energy integration into networks to reduce CO2 emissions, cut network losses, and save energy.

Based on the concepts of active distribution network, automation architecture, and active network management, the solutions provided:
- Improved network control and monitoring.
- Efficient utilization of existing networks.
- Improved visibility of distributed resources for operators and aggregators.
- The project also researched smart solutions for designing and operating distribution networks with large-scale integration of distributed resources in order to ensure the continuity and quality of electricity supply.

Funded under the 7th Framework Programme (FP7) of the European Commission (Grant agreement no: 608860), this project had an €8M budget and lasted from September 2013 to August 2016.

Partners: Tampere University of Technology, Telvent Energía, Dansmarks Tekniske Universitet, Rheinisch-Westfaelische Technische Hochschule Aachen University, University Carlos III of Madrid, Kungliga Tekniska högskolan, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Dansk Energi, IREC Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya, Gas Natural Fenosa, A2A Reti Electtriche S.p.A, and NS Ostkraft.
