His focus is on the fast growing consumer demand for complete data centre solutions, resulting from rising complexity induced by the trends of colocation, virtualisation and cloud computing. Services offered by the business unit include both basic lifecycle services for the installed base and advanced services.

Prior to joining Schneider in 2017, Taru’s background was in the engineering and consulting space where he held various technical and leadership roles in engineering & management consulting, project management, strategy and business development. He has spent more than 10 years working across various industries, including Utilities, Mining, Water, Renewable Energy, Petrochemicals and most recently in the Oil and Gas space.

In addition to IT, Schneider Electric’s IT business unit focuses on power, infrastructure, industry and buildings; with key technologies in these units being low voltage and renewables, medium voltage and grid automation, industrial automation, critical power and cooling, and building automation and security.

Bruce joined Schneider Electric in 2009 as automation and drives sales manager in the company’s industry business unit. Prior to this, he spent more than 10 years gaining experience in both the computer software and electronic manufacturing industries at Siemens and Citect.

Bruce is well qualified to provide this mix of capabilities. He has a national higher diploma in electrical engineering, along with a Business Management Diploma from the University of Johannesburg (previously the Technikon Witwatersrand).
