HeForShe advocacy role and partnership with UN Women reinforced
Rueil-Malmaison (France), February 9, 2017 – As a HeForShe IMPACT 10X10X10 Champion, Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, is strengthening its support for gender equality through the secondment of Isabelle Michel Magyar, Diversity and Inclusion Vice President, to UN Women’s HeForShe global team. During the two year secondment beginning 2017 – 2019, Ms. Magyar, will serve as a Project Manager for the HeForShe IMPACT portfolio which consist of the high-profile HeForShe IMPACT 10x10x10 initiative and newly founded HeForShe Thematic Champion Initiative, inaugurated by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada. In her new role, Ms. Magyar will work to strengthen the engagement of the private sector in driving towards a gender equal world globally
Since 2015, the mobilization for Gender equality has been a key priority within Schneider Electric: CEO WEP¹ Leadership Award in March 2015, HeForShe IMPACT 10X0X10 Champion, 40 Country Presidents signed the Women's Empowerment Principles, More than 34 000 employees cross the world signed the movement.

The role of corporations in gender equality has been well documented. To spur concrete action and position gender equality, women’s rights and women’s empowerment at the center of the agenda, UN Women, through its HeForShe initiative, engages with leaders of Corporations as either HeForShe Advocates or Champions; HeForShe Advocates and Champions are dedicated supporters of gender equality and women’s empowerment, serving as public champions for change, and committing to concrete progress within their own institutions, through fresh and innovative approaches that have the potential to be scaled and replicated.
