Devan Pillay

Devan Pillay is a seasoned leader with over two decades of leadership across global industrial and energy sectors. As Segment President for Heavy Industries at Schneider Electric, based in London, he spearheads the strategic growth of the Energies & Chemicals, Mining, Minerals, and Metals sectors. His mission is to accelerate the energy transition in heavy industries through a comprehensive approach that integrates electrification, digitalization, decarbonization, and ecosystem collaboration.

Prior to this role, Devan served as President of Schneider Electric’s Anglophone Africa Cluster, where he led transformative growth across key markets in Africa. His leadership was instrumental in expanding Schneider Electric’s footprint across priority geographies and sectors, while championing sustainability, access to energy, and education through strategic partnerships with the Schneider Electric Foundation.

Before joining Schneider Electric in 2020, Devan held senior leadership roles including CEO of Signify Africa and Managing Director at 3M for Anglophone Africa. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technologies from Durban University of Technology and an MBA in Economics from the Gordon Institute of Business Science.
