Schneider Electric, Salik, and VCharge are rolling out 1,800+ EV charging points across the UAE, streamlining installation and maintenance. The integration of Salik’s E-Wallet with Schneider chargers enables seamless payments and onboarding for EV drivers.
Salik Company PJSC (Salik), Dubai’s exclusive toll gate operator, has entered into a collaboration with Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, and Vcharge EV Charging Point Operator, to deliver smart, scalable Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across the UAE. This collaboration reinforces the shared commitment of all three organizations to driving sustainable urban mobility through electric vehicle charging and supporting the UAE’s national electrification agenda.
Under the terms of the understanding, Schneider Electric will supply advanced EV chargers through its channel partner Vcharge to deliver a seamless user experience. The chargers will be integrated with Salik’s E-Wallet platform, allowing drivers to be charged directly through their existing Salik accounts, boosting convenience for electric vehicles and enhancing convenient charging across UAE. Customers can directly plug in the chargers and start the charging session without downloading apps, using charging cards or interacting with charging stations.
Vcharge - Schneider Electric’s appointed channel partner in the UAE - will oversee the deployment and operation of the EV charging systems at 1800+ charging points throughout the UAE. This includes installation, software integration, and ongoing maintenance to ensure high uptime and improved energy efficiency.
The rollout will expand to cover Salik’s network, reinforcing the UAE’s position as a regional leader in accelerating sustainable, future-proof transport infrastructure.
Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, Chief Executive Officer, Salik Company PJSC, said: “At Salik, we are shaping the future of mobility through innovation, integration, and customer-centric solutions. Our collaboration with Schneider Electric marks a significant step in expanding our digital ecosystem to support the growing demand for electric vehicles. By integrating EV charging with Salik’s E-Wallet for simple, cashless payments, we are enhancing convenience for our users while advancing the UAE’s vision for smarter, more sustainable mobility in line with Net Zero 2050.”
Amel Chadli, President of Gulf Countries, Schneider Electric, added: “The UAE’s mobility landscape is at an inflection point and continues to evolve rapidly. This collaboration underscores our shared commitment to accelerating the energy transition by bringing together Schneider Electric’s smart charging technology and Salik’s innovative payment ecosystem to enable future-ready infrastructure that’s both scalable and user centric.”
Abdulaziz Al Shamsi, Chief Executive Officer, Vcharge, commented: “Together with Salik and Schneider, we’re turning EV charging into a zero-hassle, seamless experience journey—arrive, plug in, go. With Salik’s trusted wallet and Schneider’s reliable hardware, we’re scaling an experience that will accelerate EV adoption across the UAE.”
The UAE is accelerating its Net Zero by 2050 strategy with bold steps to advance smart and sustainable mobility. Key initiatives include promoting electric vehicles, targeting 10% of all cars by 2030 through incentives such as free registration and reduced charging fees. The UAE’s EV market is projected to reach about AED 7.16 billion by 2025, with EVs expected to account for over 15% of new car sales by 2030.[1]This progress aligns with Salik’s vision to enable smarter, greener mobility and support the nation’s sustainability goals.
Supporting the UAE’s ambitious sustainability goals, this collaboration is aligned with the nation’s Net Zero 2050 strategic initiative and positions Schneider Electric as a leader in powering resilient, future-proof infrastructure across the region.
