Schneider Electric Expands Local Manufacturing Capabilities in the UAE to Deliver AI-Powered Data Centers

New facility launched in Sharjah to enhance regional manufacturing capabilities. Through this launch, Schneider Electric to support the UAE’s ‘Make it in the Emirates Strategy’ and the ongoing In-Country Value program.   

Schneider Electric has officially announced a new manufacturing facility in Sharjah that aims to offer AI-ready data center solutions to cater to the region’s growing data center market.

The new facility is designed to manufacture and assemble AI-ready prefabricated modular data centers, supporting the UAE's ‘Make it in the Emirates’ strategy and the ongoing In-Country Value (ICV) program, which is designed to boost local economic growth and increase the contribution of the private sector to the UAE’s GDP.

This launch reinforces Schneider Electric’s role in boosting local production, driving sustainability and industrial growth through advanced manufacturing practices.

Amel Chadli, President of Gulf Countries, Schneider Electric commented: “Our expansion in local manufacturing reflects Schneider Electric’s commitment to the UAE's vision for industrial growth and sustainability. By advancing our AI-powered data center solutions, we are addressing the country’s increasing demand for scalable, energy-efficient, digital infrastructure. This facility will allow us to deliver data center solutions that align with both national economic objectives and the evolving needs of industries.”

The new range of data centers is designed to meet customer demands for greater predictability, lower total cost of ownership, and faster deployment. Beyond addressing the region’s infrastructure needs, the facility will also drive local job creation, with up to 70% local content across supply chain management, logistics, project management and maintenance. This reinforces Schneider Electric’s commitment to supporting the UAE’s industrial growth and economic development.

    Amel Chadli is the President of the Gulf Cluster in Schneider Electric and member of Schneider Electric's Middle East and Africa Executive Leadership Team. She assumed the role at of the beginning of 2024 following her previous position as Vice President for Digital Energy and Energy Management Software for the Middle East and Africa region. With almost two decades of experience in the company, Amel’s journey has been marked by agility and adaptability. Having navigated diverse geographies, from Europe to Africa and the dynamic hub of Dubai across multiple disciplines including financial, strategy and business development leadership roles. Most notably, Amel was the Chief Financial Officer for the company’s business in Francophone Africa Cluster and helped bringing in financial acumen and strategy in one of the region’s most challenging and rapidly changing environments and succeeded in reinforcing the company financial integrity and performance. Prior to Schneider Electric, she held various roles in the finance management organizations in APC, Ernst & Young and MessageMedia. Her accomplishments extend beyond the workplace. She sits on various local, regional and global industry boards and associations, dedicating her time to share her knowledge with the industry community. Amel is also on the Executive Committee of RES4Africa, a foundation with a resolute dedication to supporting Africa's energy transition and achieving Sustainable Development Goal 7. Amel’s dedication to sustainability and empowerment, particularly of local talent, women, and youth, positions her as a catalyst for positive change in the industry.
