Cause
"Modbus Device Importer (MDI)" is a tool used in versions prior to PME 9.x. It was replaced in PME with the "Device Type Editor (DTE)". This tool is used to create custom Modbus and OPC device drivers. If the error is seen, there is an invalid register address configured in the device driver that is causing the "bad" status.
Solution
Open the affected translator file in the Modbus Device Importer (Management Console>Tools>Modbus Device Importer OR Management Console > Tools> System> Device Type Editor). Once open, find the invalid Modbus address referenced in the Management Console error; in this case, it is registered as '400000'. Either reassign the correct Modbus address or remove the register completely from the translator, save, and update the device type.
Recommendation
If you are using an older version of PME, consider upgrading to the latest version for improved protocol support and security. For assistance with integration or upgrades, contact Schneider Electric Technical Support at: pmo-psup@se.com
