How do you wire and program for a dynamic braking resistor on Altivar drives?

Issue:
Wiring and programming for dynamic braking resistor on AC drives?

Product Line:
Altivar ATV31, ATV312, ATV32,  ATV61, ATV71,

Environment:
All with the optional dynamic braking resistor.

Cause:
DB resistor is not turning on to stop the motor quickly

Resolution:
The DB resistor is wired to power terminals PA and PB.

Programming:
For ATV31/ATV312/ATV32 go to Fun menu, then RPt sub menu and set brA to NO.
For ATV61/ATV71 Go to Menu 1.7 [Application Function} and then Ramp sub menu and set Dec Ramp Adapt to NO.

Note: ATV630 Process Drives are not designed to be used with dynamic braking resistors.
